Virtual Trader - Are the stocks real?

Are these stocks based on the real ones?i mean are the uphills and downhills of the stocks from the real stock market but just in the virtual world or there is another system by which this game works?if a stock falls is that the same case in the real world or just in this game?

As far as i can tell the figures match those in the real LSE.
It also appears that buying and selling has to be matched with a real transaction.
The stats are 15 minutes delayed though, so a transaction you make will take 15 minutes to show.

you can see by going to the bbc news site click on buisness then onto ftse 100 you can then see all share prices sector by sector they are the same,but reading the headlines and news will tell you why the moves have taken place
